Sir:
I am in receipt of my latest paycheck, and regret to inform you that it does not meet our current needs. I simply didn't fall in love with it. In this crowded field, a submission must stand out, must have commercial potential, and this one simply was not sufficiently compelling.
As there was no enclosed SASE, I'll recycle the manuscript.

This made me laugh out loud. It's so mind-numbing to even think that stupid. Oh the pain, oh the humanity, oh the sun came up this morning.

Okay, you took this from one of your actual rejection letters to some poor author, am I right?
Now let's see the follow up rejection letter from the bank when you try to cash it.
This rang so true. No wonder EE is grouchy if he recycles all his pay cheques.
